A little seasonal care goes a long way toward keeping your SwingBed looking great and lasting for years. Here's what we recommend, whether you chose cedar or cypress.
Seasonal Cleaning
Rinse your SwingBed with a garden hose every few weeks and wipe down with a soft brush and mild soap to remove dust, pollen, and grime. Avoid pressure washers and harsh chemical cleaners, which can strip natural finishes and roughen the grain.
Sealing & Finishing
If you want to maintain that fresh-cut color, apply an exterior wood sealant or UV-protective stain once a year. Left unsealed, both cedar and cypress will weather naturally to an attractive silver-gray patina over time — a low-maintenance option many owners prefer.
Hardware & Frame Checks
Twice a year, check that all bolts, eye screws, and chains are tight and free of rust. If your SwingBed hangs from a porch ceiling or A-frame, confirm the mounting hardware is rated for the load and still secure. A quick inspection now prevents squeaks and wear later.
